
In July 2008, Mr. Baker was appointed by KY Governor Steve Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs and was named to the Executive Committee.
Since July 2002, Mr. Baker has served as an elected National Director of the Navy League of the United States. In 2006 and 2007, He was elected to the position of Area President of the Great Lakes Region. Mr. Baker has also served as a Civilian Senior Volunteer Leader for the Department of Defense in holding a position of State Chairman for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
Mr. Baker volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1969. He was deployed to Europe for fifteen months to serve in the 6/40 Field Artillery - 3rd Armored Division. He received the Army Commendation Medal and an Honorable Discharge.
In 2006, the National Guard Association of the U.S. Presented to Mr. Baker its Patrick Henry Award (Civilian Counterpart to NGAUS Distinguished Service Award). In 2002, he received the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Distinguished Service Award. In 1992, He was the first Practitioner inducted into the Kentucky Advertising Hall of Fame.
He is the Founder and President of Baker Communications, Advertising/Marketing/Public Relations, QBI3, Inc., and a Founding Partner of Walbak International Marketing LTD.
Mr. Baker attended Bellermine College, Louisville, KY and graduated with a BBA from the University of Kentucky.
He and his wife, Cindy, reside in Lexington, KY.
